Andy Collins

TV Presenter

One of Andy Collins earliest performances on stage was in the hit musical “Bugsy Malone” and later he exchanged plastic guns for the real thing when at 16 years of age, he joined the Royal Navy.

During his four years service, he was awarded a war service medal for his contribution in the Gulf War. However it was not his nautical skills for which he will be remembered but his talent as an entertainer. Andy’s Ship’s Captain once said “if we could win this war with laughter, I’d make young Collins Admiral”. Inevitably Andy said a fond farewell to the Navy to pursue his entertainment career.

Over the next few years Andy experienced just about every aspect of the entertainment industry from Shakespeare to Stand up, Clubland to Cabaret,

MTV to CITV. Andy also became one of the most sought after TV warm up artistes in the business. His enthusiasm combined with his natural talent led to his first appearance on the small screen as Co-Presenter of Sky TV’s “Gamesworld”.

As a presenter, Andy has been busier than ever. Over the last eight years he has notched up hundreds of hours on T.V. & Radio presenting a wide range of programmes such as “Games World Live”, “Game Over”, “Techno Games”, “Pump It Up”, “Lost In the Woods” and Steve Penk’s Breakfast Show for Virgin Radio. He has hosted two live U.K. tours of “Robot Wars”, and appeared as Andy O’Brady in Sky’s No 1 Soap “Dream Team”.

Since September Andy has presented Carlton Television’s “Family Fortunes” five nights a week, previously hosted by such icons as Bob Monkhouse, Max Bygraves and Les Dennis.

In 1996 Andy returned to his first love “The Theatre”, donned his tights and slapped his thigh as Idle Jack in Dick Whittington and ever since he has been totally hooked on panto. As well as performing as Idle Jack, he has appeared as Wishy-Washy, Buttons, Muddles and as Silly Billy
