TV Chef & Masterchef of Great Britain and Former Partner of Celebrity Chef Peter Langham of Langhams.



Mark Baumann was born in West Sussex to an Austrian mother and grew up in the Hotel business where his Father - of Swiss origin was MD of a large country house Hotel in stock broker belt Surrey.

After learning his trade in the finest Michelin starred restaurants in France and the United Kingdom he met the infamous restaurateur Peter Langan (of Langans Brasserie) and together they opened Langans in the Market town of Coggeshall, Essex.

After Peter's untimely death, Mark took full control of the Restaurant and in 1986 renamed it Baumanns Brasserie - a restaurant that has continued to flourish ever since.

Baumanns Brasserie was recently listed in the Times “top 10 Brasseries”

Mark is an author, food critic, Restaurant consultant and TV Chef - even having starred in his own ITV series.

Mark has a joie de vivre and doesn't take himself too seriously -

although judging by his food, the list of celebrities for whom he has cooked (including the Queen Mother) would probably differ!

Mark also hosts his hugely popular Baumann's Cooking Academy, and enjoys entertaining crowds during the master classes that he demonstrates world wide.

Recognized as one of the top 2000 Chefs in the world Mark is proud to have worked with the likes of Tesco, Sainsburys, The BBC, ITV and many others.

Mark blogs for two magazines each month, is a regular guest on BBC Essex and has appeared in National publications including Tatler magazine and Grazia, as well as newspapers including The Express, The Independent, The Times and The Sun.

Mark is energetic and ambitious and has a problem sitting still!
